The Sophisticated One

The art, passion, and creativity are what inspired Dominique Jolie to model. “ I love the dedication and hard work that symbolizes a belief or message that is prepared in each photo and is delivered for the world to see” Jolie says. There’s no way a person who does this for a hobby can be that deep in thought about a profession. I sensed the drive in this 22 year old woman, who was born and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Her thoughts about photography are mind boggling. “I strongly believe that the coordination and connection between the model and photographer are extremely important because of the mixed chemistries that can become masterpieces”.  I don’t under estimate people by any shape or form, but I wish she could speak forever. I’m infatuated with people that have something to say. The young model opened my mind to think in a deeper perspective of all tools used to make one thing as pure and decent as manageable. When the most memorable photo shoot she’s been a part of took place in waterfalls near Baltimore, Maryland. “The photos were taken nearly under water, and had to be close to below zero degrees”.  She told me they weren’t her best photographs, but the learning experience was essential. “No matter what predicament you’re in try your best, stay focused, and stay connected with the camera”. She believes speaking up for yourself is a definitely in this business. Her 5 year plan is to have an established name to forego a make-up line and striving in the ideal modeling career. I wish her the best in her efforts to become that model she dreamed of being. It’s definitely in her grasp; the tactics to be one is consistency, tenacity, and the will. If she keeps these as her credentials, there shouldn’t be any obstacles holding her back. When people think they are good at something, some people think it’s supposed to be given to them. We as people have to go get it.

A very promising future for this young woman.

The Posh Gyal

If you would ask Chantel Cupid-Bobb better known as Hollybobb, if it’s possible to breathe fashion. Without a brief hesitation she would definitely let you know that it’s possible. “Fashion is my life I live, breathe, and eat fashion“. With a major in Fashion Merchandising and Business Management, helps her be defined as a stylist.  If her credentials doesn‘t intrigue you, when it comes to putting together an outfit “I’ve got it” she says. Hollybobb has the fashion styling thing down packed. “My job as a fashion stylist is to make a person look and feel beautiful, and in the case of professional fashion styling, to make the clothing itself shine. A good fashion stylist is a treasured commodity, as the best will take anyone and make them shine, choosing clothing and accessories that highlight the best features of the individual, and working with makeup and hair stylists to ensure they look at their best anytime they are in public“.
You won’t catch Chantel doing a lousy job, she told us “I’m very passionate about anything that I do and very motivated to take my projects to the next level“.  When you’re good at something you sometimes have a general overview of the profession. Hollybobb is extremely knowledgeable of different garments, styles, and fashion trends. You have to have the ability of a strong sense of fashion and creativeness in this field with coming up with many different ideas. I can create an image that sends a message through you as a person that will make statements. “When it comes to fashion I’m very passionate about anything that I do and very motivated to take my projects to the next level.  I have a solid knowledge of different garment, styles, fashion trends and what looks good on different body structures. When evaluating specific fashions to be displayed; I can recognize what’s going to catch the eye of the public. I’m also big on “dare to be different” because people don’t always want to see the same looks over and over. I’m not scared to go out of the ordinary because creativity leads to success. When asked what she had on her resume previously she said, “Last summer I assisted celebrity stylist FelipeG (Celebrity Stylist) with a few projects that he was working on; styling celebrities and creating looks for fashion shows. This was a great opportunity for me to expand my knowledge on what this industry is really like and I gained a lot of useful information. We grew a strong bond and until this day we still work together. I was also a hairstylist and a make-up artist for proms and a couple of photo-shoots; those were gigs that I did on the side“. She thinks this was the motivation she needed to start her own blog.
In the future she plans on accomplishing her own line of clothing and have a posh boutique of her own“. In my opinion their couldn’t be a more motivated inspirational human being able to walk the gravel and dirt. She has this professional demeanor about herself, which can only be replicated by successful people. We’ve Known Hollybobb for almost 4 years. I believe you clique with people that are on the level you are personalizing, that’s why our report is so immaculate. Her minds set is following a path of better and she’s more focused than concentration. A person we expect nothing but greatness from, so people look out for the wonderful young business women.

When you have ideas don’t keep them at a standstill, put them in motion because you never know what opportunities awaits you“. Chantel Cupid-Bobb (HollyBobb)

The Translation of Regular Reese

New up and coming artist Regular Reese isn’t going to say he does it for the money. “I just want people to hear what I have to say". It’s crazy because even Reese wouldn’t say his passion was music. “At one point I was doing it just because, once I realized it was more than a hobby; I kept at it". When asked what his music style is; he says, “my style is unique; I wouldn’t say I’m street. I’m versatile”. He says he doesn’t limit himself to anything. “I do it all techno, dance, r&b, etc". His motivation is the interest of others to his music. “It drives me to make more”.

In 2007, Regular Reese, Triz, and J Rich formed the group NexPhaze. The group projects are usually the focus, but not on December 25th. Regular Reese will be dropping his mixtape The Translation on Jesus’ birthday. Although it’s his solo project, nexphaze member Triz isn’t far from the drawing board. “When Triz plays something for me, I automatically know that he can hear me on it. He makes beats that coincide with my style, we’ve been doing it so long that it’s like clockwork”. Other producers on the album are long time friends 78west. “What people don’t know about 78west is that I started out with them. I was the rapper and they were my 3 producers”. Since 2005 Reese has been collaborating and building with the young producers from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.” They know exactly what I want when its studio time and they’re my biggest critics. Neither of the 3 has a problem telling me something’s WHACK!” A majority of the records on this mixtape is produced by them. “They deserve it” he emphatically emphasized. The Translation is a perfect example of  timeless music and it’s time for everyone to hear it now.

Ishanteria McBride

Ishanteria McBride is an IUP freshman, who is concentrating on a degree in Educational Psychology. In all respects is a natural in modeling in my opinion.

Since I was a little girl I dreamed of being a model, she says. I would pick up a magazine and say to myself, “I’m going to be on the cover one day”.   When asked why she wasn’t pursuing a modeling occupation, she stated “I need something to fall back on; I might not become a pro model”.

We met Ishanteria recently where she was featured in a photo shoot for a calendar, which she was a vampire in October. The weather was frigid and she kept her cool; literally. McBride was as professional as shoes and a tie. Not to mention we were outside for at least a half hour.  She seemed so focused with herself as a model internally and externally, and it started to leak at the location.

“The day I did the photo shoot for Kesha's IUP's Finest Women Calendar, not only was I freezing cold but I was also elated to be a part of the project. The photographers Chad and Hugo of Brocomm Studios were wonderful and took amazing photographs.
The group photo shoot that day was just as cold and also fun. Chad the photographer made us feel comfortable by cracking jokes and trying to keep our minds off the chilly weather. Both photo shoots were a wonderful experience and success”.

Ishanteria is also affiliated with the group Damage Inc.

Meek Mill Concert @ IUP

On October 9th the weekend of homecomming for IUP, the Meek Mill concert was anticipated. The concert took place at the Uptown Cultural Center better known as The Underground. Before his presence was felt on the stage IUP students waited patiently while other underground artist blessed the stage. One of the most memorable performances was Nexhaze, who tore the stage down.

People were there in the latest fashion trying to look their best.

The crowd asked for a dougie contest, a couple girls got on stage for the battle.

While all of this was going on Meek Mill had arrived and was waiting backstage with his entourage.

Finally after the power went out a couple times, Meek Mill addressed the show.

When he first came out the crowd acted like they were stunned to finally see him. The crowd was in complete silence

I don't know what the deal was with that. It took a couple of Meek's more popular records for people to open and embrace him.
Despite the technical difficulties as far as the microphones going in and out. It was an overall good performance by Meek Mill. Keep up the intensity Meek and do you all the way. We really couldn't enjoy ourselves as much because we were filming and taking the photographs. Signing out for now.

Consistency makes em Sick!

Four girls who want nothing to do with modeling, wanted a photoshoot. They're seniors attending Indiana University of Pa and wanted something to remember eachother by. The photoshoot was a success.

They were a joy to be aroud real down to earth girls. They also wanted a couple topless photos.

The turnout was nice.
When you do good work and have a great attitude working with people, they'll always remember you. They will tell other people about you and that's when businss will pick up.

Everyone have a contructive positive uplifting day. Be you and life will be easier.

Moves to be Made!

Over the weekend we were the photographers for the kesha models calender. We shot photographs for seven of the calender months. Check out their website keshamodel.com, they have some great things to look at. The calender should be up for sale by the end of the week. The calenders are very inexpensive, but quality is promised.
It was definitely a cold weekend in Indiana, Pa. We traveled from location to location making due with what we could. All the models were good spirited in the brisk weather; surprising because they were half naked.
The experience was definitely fun shoutout to the keshamodel Staff.
By the end of the week the calenders will be up for sale support the beginning of a ethusiastic group of women.
